Redboat is proud to support Torrid Films and Autism Spectrum Australia with visual effects for this light-hearted short film (finalist in the Sci-Fi Film Festival), that brought together creative talents on and off the spectrum with professionals to create a truly collaborative piece of light entertainment... all in just 30 days! Everything from script to final audio mix had to be done in the month of October 2014!

Inside a violent video game, where punks roam the corridors and peacekeepers shoot to kill, a cleaner dreams of being upgraded to a game character until a young hacker gets into the system and short circuits his options.

In just 7 days Redboat armed a team of game-punks with retro styled laser bolts, empowered a girl-hacker with 'she's encrypting' teleportation capabilities, and tore open a hole in game-reality for them to escape through. Sound a bit tongue in cheek? You bet!

Directed by Zoe Harvey, the film was a co-production between Torrid Films and Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) and brought together creative talents on and off the spectrum to work alongside professionals and non-professionals in creating a truly collaborative piece of light entertainment. The film was recently formally launched at a private screening in Sydney to celebrate International Day of People with Disability 2014 on the 3rd December. You can read more out more about the film and crew here.

Thanks to Peter and Alex in South Africa and Vitally in Australia for coming on board the Redboat team and their generous contribution to the visual effects for this film.

Testimonials

"Redboat helped us to create an online animation for interested parties to lean about Marine Zoning. We had a short turnaround time and very specific requirements, which did change at our end during the course of the project. The team at Redboat were wonderful. They offered suggestions to improve the process along the way, never seemed phased by last minute changes and were generally a pleasure to work with. We were thrilled with the end product. Iā€™d highly recommend their services. "

Vivienne Sykes, Brand and Content Manager - Parks Australia
Department of the Environment and Energy

"We used Redboat to tell a complex story in a short animation. We were completely happy both with the result ā€“ it make quite an impact at the time and is still being used successfully ā€“ and with the professional way in which Adrian interacted with the team in developing and fine-tuning the brief. I enthusiastically recommend his work generally and have done to others who might be looking for similar services."
